Other information

I was born and raised in Ipswich, and although Ive worked and travelled all over the world, I have been based in the area all my life. Professionally, I spent 13 years working for a small software house before changing direction and moving to BT and now Openreach, where I focus on the future direction of their telecommunications network.

Andy and I moved to Swilland in November 2009. Since then, Ive been juggling the demands of work and motherhood with managing the restoration and environmental improvements of two houses, as well as fighting to keep our large garden under control. However, when the weather and time allows, I like to leave that all behind and head out walking or cycling with the family.

My involvement with Witnesham Primary School started when our daughter Anna began in reception in September 2010, and I became a parent governor in June 2011 because I wanted to contribute to the future of the school. Now a co-opted governor as part of the federated governing body, my various roles mean that my focus is across both schools, and I try to support and assist both in whatever ways I can. I believe passionately that each and every child should have the opportunity and encouragement to achieve their full potential in all areas, within a caring and supportive school environment.
