My profession background is in building surveying within a government department holding various managerial positions during that time.

I have always been interested in working with young people and have been a member of The Boys’ Brigade movement since I was seven.

Taking early retirement I became a volunteer working in Bury schools and was invited by a Rougham School governor to a meeting they were holding to try and fill governor vacancies. After meeting the head teacher I decided to “give it a go” although it was not something I was looking to do at that time.

Six year later, with the past three as Chair, I am very enthusiastic about our school and its potential. I believe it is very important that young people have the best opportunities presented to them in their formative years. It is my aim that the skills and experience I bring to the governor role will be of benefit to the whole school community.
